• The capital city of Bali is Denpasar.
• Bali is situated between 8 and 9 degrees south of the equator.
• Population: 3 million (2016) and increasing.
• The majority of Balinese practice the Hindu religion, which they refer to as Agama Hindu Dharma, Religion of the Hindu Doctrine.
• Bali spans approximately 5,363 square meters.
• Wet season: November to March; dry season : April to October.
• Temperatures within coastal areas are typically around 28ºC during May, June, July - rising to approximately 30ºC throughout March and October.
• Humidity is high, from a minimum of 70% to a maximum of 95%.year round.
• Bali encompasses eight regencies: Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan, Klungkung, Karangasem, Buleleng, Jembrana and Bangli.
• There are three main languages spoken on Bali: Balinese and its dialects, Indonesian, and a kind of old Javanese called Kawi. English is widely accepted and is spoken in main areas of tourism; whilst also often employed for talking business.
• Creative dance and performance form an important part of daily routine across the region. Being an integral facet of Balinese religion and culture such activities are engaged in as an expression of devotion to those sacred.
• Spiritual rituals, tradition and culture are integral aspects of Balinese life and throughout the region there is a focus on inner peace.
